Dethatching

De thatching, or commonly known as power raking is the process of removing dead grass in which becomes a layer left below the turf but above the root system. this process is done either by raking vigorously with a hand rake or by using a machine designed specific to the job (power rake); which rotates a drum with metal tines against the ground ripping up thatch and very lightly tilling the ground making way of weak or dead grass.

• It is healthy for your lawn to maintain a light layer of thatch to retain water and regulate temperature. 
• De thatching your lawn in the spring makes room for fresh grass to grow and for water, fertilizer, and seed to penetrate the root system efficiently.
• Thatch can suffocate a lawn and invite disease and bacteria. 
• Thatch is a breading grown for pathogens and can cause allergies.
